Biography
The Adelphi Quartet, consisting of four European musicians, was founded in 2017 at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and, after winning 1st prize at the Irene Steels-Wilsing Foundation Competition at the Heidelberger Frühling String Quartet Festival in January 2020, the quartet is on the verge of an international breakthrough.
Four musicians: violinist Maxime Michaluk from Belgium, Spanish violinist Esther Agustí Matabosch, violist Marko Milenković from Serbia and the German cellist Nepomuk Braun gained their brilliance and musical experience in their studies with prominent professors including Igor Ozim, Benjamin Schmid, Rainer Schmidt, Thomas Riebl, Heinrich Schiff and Clemens Hagen. Towards the end of their solo studies, the four internationally experienced chamber musicians found their way to each other through their shared passion for the string quartet. Shortly after, they were admitted to the renowned class of Rainer Schmidt (Hagen Quartet). In addition, the quartet received valuable support and guidance from Eberhard Feltz and Valentin Erben.
Concert tours have taken the Adelphi Quartet to Great Britain, France, Belgium, Canada and the USA, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Highlights of the past and current season include performances at the Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, at the Mondsee Music Festival, at the Salzburg Mozarteum Foundation, are invitation to perform at the String Quartet Festival of the Heidelberger Frühling as well as the performance of Schubert’s String Quintet with the cellist of the Alban Berg Quartet, Valentin Erben.
